 Subject: V8 tb installed but doesn't feel right?

I put a v8 tb on my truck yesterday with the v8 throttle cable and it just doesn't feel right. It feels like I have to put the gas to the floor farthur to get the transmission to down shift. Now it shifts in and out of overdrive when I drive between 40-45mph is this right. Let me know if anybody else has this problem and how to fix it if there is a problem.

check the linkage where you connect the cable to the TB.

did you remember to loop the throttle cable under the little cam on the v8 TB the v6 tb doesn't have one
