Message:
I have a 90 with a 3.9. When I rev it up at all in park or neutral and I take my foot off the gas there's this tinny sort of metallic rattle every time as the engine goes back to idle.
Its been serviced many times and nobody has said thats its anything serious. Maybe something like a valve or something.
I have no idea...
Anybody have advice on how to make it go away?
Much appreciated

notorious timing chain rattle.dodge dealers have a fix for it .those engines stock don't have timing chain tensioners, but you can buy one at the dealer.surprisingly, the manufacturer actually acknoledged the problem and built a fix for it.about $50.hope this helps
