Which is the best electric fan for out 3.9Ls?
Should it be temp controlled? Are they "plug-n-play" or does it take splicing of wires? Aproximate cost? I thought while i was installing my undercrank pully might as well do this :)

I have been researching this myself. From the posts I've read in archives and from the input I've gotten from Bernd it sounds like the Black Magic 150 is the best bet. Cost is around $200.00 I think. If you want quality you gotta pay. This is themostatically controlled and is adjustable for turn on/turn off temps. This is the one I've decided to go with.

I just installed the black magic 150. The hardest part was fabricating two mounting brackets to secure the top of the fan. No big deal, just get a couple strips of light metal and bend here and there and bolt it up to the stock bolt holes that surround the radiator. The wiring is easy. The temperature probe requires you to bend some fins to slide the probe between a couple tubes in the radiator. Mine seems to work fine except I think I got one with a bad adjustable thermostat built in. It only comes on when the fan in the passenger compartment is turned on. But even with it not turned on my thermostat in the engine never hits 210.
