I am trading my 2.5l in soon for a 3.9l 4x2 CC 5-speed. I don't plan on doing any towing ro heavy duty work with it, nor do i plan on really racing the hell out of it. I just want soemthign with some get-up-and-go, especcially more on teh freeway (if you have driven a 2.5l you will know what i mean), as well as somethign that will at least keep up with my friends cars so i don't get left behind. How's the gas mileage, what you guy average with a 3.9l 5-speed? Is the extra powere really with the extra gas money and insurance?

i have a club cab v6 5 speed and am happy with the power and can hang with a lot of stuff. the mileage sucks only 17-18 if i stay out of it ( doesn't happen often!!) but better than some v8's i've heard of

Thanks, that is all i wanted to hear. As far as gas mileage, i will be getting a few things that a friend of mine who know a lot about cars told me to do. Get a K&N air filter, a Raven Muffler, and a tonneau cover and just those three should help on the gas, like 3 or 4 mpg.

It will be a great truck for you compared to your 4 cyl. You can beef up the v6 with mods. I sell them for visit my site: www.v8performance.com

Don't get an auto though!
My truck had a lot of get-up-and-go. But then I started having problems with the tranny, and am still haveing problems only 107700 too.
The manual tranny is so much better!
