I really like my (new to me) Reg cab Dak.
I just bought it this past weekend and it only had 10k miles, so i'm excited about that aswell. The only thing I wish I could change would to have a little more pep on the highway. From a stop it seems to take off pretty well, and had A LOT more torque then my civic down low. But i think my stock civic with 100k miles would kill the dakota at highway speeds.

I'm not looking to make it into a dragster are anything but I am definatly going to do some mods SOON! Probably removing the damn stock clutch fan this weekend, i've been browsing the board, and this seems like the logical first step to take. Any pointers on replacing the clutch fan with an electric. I've seen the posts about the black.. .somthing, I'll find out then run and find one.
Thanks.

I would definantly get the electric fan. Other good mods that are cheap and people seem to love is: intake, exhaust, and a ported or V8 throttle body with a throttle cable.

Well...I've also got a 2002 3.9 RC. I've got the automatic tranny, too...tired of clutching it at backed up stop signs. I don't want to rain on your parade too hard, but don't expect miracles out of the 3.9. I've put the F&B throttle body, intake, headers, and Dynomax on the truck so far, and I've got 1.7 rockers and MSD wires waiting to go on. In all honesty, it's hard to tell any real difference between pre and post modifications. Not much return on $1200 worth of parts. Maybe, when the rockers go on, I'll be able to actually FEEL something, but I'm not holding my breath. Just a heads up that unless you're willing to go beyond a few simple bolt ons...no, the "S" bolt is NOT a performance mod...i.e., spend some serious $$, you may be better off remaining as you are...BONEstock.

Thanks guys, I bought the truck as me daily driver and to haul my yamaha R6 to and from the races. LOL I was using the civic pulling a damn Uhaul everywhere. That was slow going. I haven't really had a change to take a good look at everything yet, but I'm probably going to start with the Fan removal, and either droping in a K&N or replacing the entire intake assembly (depending on $$ and if I can work around the stock box). Thanks for all the input!

I have an 01/3.9. I put in the K&N, Gibson catback exhaust, jet stage 2 chip, smaller crank pulley, low temp stat, and my own custom cold RAM air intake. I like the improvement in power and mpg.

Total cost around 1000.
