Will the K&N air intake sytem [FIPK Stock #57-1517-1] which is made for the 5.9's fit the 3.9? Has anyone done this? How hard/easy was the install? Does it require any mods? Thank You

My truck doesnt have cruise control. Will the kit still fit and did you have to do any modifications to get it to fit? Thanks

The fact that you don't have CC should make the kit easier to install. The kit will install just as it comes, but I didn't like the way the tube rubbed the AC lines so I changed the location of the saddle bracket as you can see in my album that is the only modification I did to the kit. It's possible that you might be able to use kit # 57-1509 it's for "97-99" Dakota's that have the CC mounted on the firewall 2000 was the year they changed it to the fender well. You can download the instructions for both kits a K&N's web site to study and see if they will work for you. BTW the 1509 is a good bit cheaper than the 1517 ; )
