i was out on the highway just now and i found out that my truck actually can go over 98 with od off, ive tried before, i guess i just pressed harder or something. I really thought it was limited to 98, maybe the others who say their trucks are limited to 98 just didnt wait long enough cause ive tried lots of times, but this time i hit like 102 and ran out of room

in od mine wont go over 98
it shifts at 4800 and gets stuck at 3000 @ 98 mph, but when it did that yesterday, i hit od off and pushed really hard and it began to increase slowly. ur truck is much lighter then mine(4100) so it probably just gets there quicker

Is yours 2 or 4wd, RC, CC, or QC? I also have a bed cover. That helps alot. I couldn't do over 100 before I got it.

Got mine up to 110. I had to turn od on and off making it keep shifting back and forth. It still cuts off at 3k rpm

I have a 2000 2wd V6 and I can get the truck up to 115 with out any problems.

I took a 1/2 mile to get to 115 after I already got to 100. It was still going but I ran out of room to go faster then 115. Also the cops were out that night. Ha Ha

damn u dont wanna get a ticket at 115, lol. it would be like $200.
yeah mine wont get their that fast cause its a 4x4 but ive got a great road with no place for cops next to my house
maybe ill get there with my gibson, but it is dangerous to be doing this. although i figured a truck would handle worse at these speeds. the $hit is pretty damn solid!!

If the Cops got me at the speed I would be put in Jail. At Least that Is what the do in MO. It drove well at that speed but I will not do this every day!

I would tend to agree with Master about goin to jail. I got caught a few months back and was doing 53 in a 35 and they got me for around $175. I think 115 in a 55 or 65 would definately land you in jail for speeding and reckless driving! But hey, what the cops don't see won't hurt them!

The charge they would get you in jail for probably wouldn't be speeding, but at that speed, it would probably be pretty easy for them to get you for reckless driving which can and will land you in jail. I am going to try my hardest not to find out first hand tho!

Reckless driving is considered something like 20-25mph over the limit and on from there if I'm remembering correctly; Ohio was 5 fewer over the limit than here in Texas, so I guess it's a state law.
I've taken mine to its governer at 102mph twice; mine seemed to drag on about punching through to triple digits too.

on mine the rpms are limited in two spots unless you turn od off, it shifts at 4800 in third and it can't go over 3000 in forth, unless u turn od back on after u pass 100.

I just went out last night and got my truck to 120. It was a rough going and I took a long time but she got there. Also about the cops, I talked to the cop at my school and he said at that speed with out a question you would be taken to jail and have a huge fine. I am not to worried about It because If a cop is sitting on the side of the road and I pass him at 115 or 120 I don,t think he will be able to find me because I will try to get my as@ off that road as quick as possible.

yeah probably, they would have to try real hard to catch you.
i just found that it won't accelerate past 100 with the pedal completely compressed. just like 80% will do it.

My truck gets past 100 just fine. Your truck nust realy have some problems with It LI Blackdak or my limiter does not work. Oh well lets just say My truck will go faster then your truck and just leave It at that.

its a 4x4 cc auto its really slow
u have 2wd
0-60 on 5speed 2wd rc is 8.5 mine is 11.something

I did not know It is a 4x4. That is why it is not hitting the high as speed as I am. You should not worry about speed because you can go off road but I can't. I my mind I think that is a lot better then going 120MPH.

well heres how i know they go faster than 115!
i was racing a civic si and waxed him in third then he blew nos on me and cought up well we hit well over 110 and as i was pulling his peice, i looked back to see where he was ,and when i hit this turn mister police man was waiting for me on the other side. lets just say i got a month in jail till i maid bail and 2 years with out a licence. i was clocked @ 124 mph in a 70. in the state off texas, anything over 100 is jail time. i just had a good defense atourny.

Joe, not all of them cut in at the same speed. 98, 110, 112, 115, 130...it varies on each truck and combination of options (engine, driveline, 2WD, 4WD, 3.9/4.7/5.2/5.9/8.0, Sport, CC, QC).
Our sponsored truck (2001 R/T) cuts him out at 112...mine is 115, and another local buddies 2001 R/T cuts him out at 124.
