After putting my V8 TB on my 3.9, when I run the air conditioner it really sucks when taking off in 1st gear. Is it just the nature of the beast.

For a little more money you could have gotten the Fastman 46mm TB, which produces much better low end torque than the stock V8 TB conversion.
I have the Fastman 46mm TB and the throttle response at any RPM, or any load is great.

Fastman, APS, Flometrics, Hughes, Magnum Performance...all have decent choices on modified throttle bodies. All of them will help cure the "bog" out of the hole.
