What is the best catback system to get for a V6 4x4(because a lot of systems seem not to fit on 4x4s) is JBA evol better then gibson or is it just more expensive and why does it fit 97-99 and not 2000-2002? is it just that they never tried or is their a difference. also how important is it to get SS and not aluminum? and why does truckperformance.com say that these systems add like 22 hp is that even possible???

I can only give you my opinion on a couple of your questions: Stainless is better than aluminum because it lasts soooo much longer. A new catback adds to performance because a.) the muffler is better quality than stock, usually flow-through (and sounds better!) and b.) the connecting pipes are usually larger in diameter, improving flow. I bought a Borla catback off ebay for an incredible price, as it had been only used for a month. However, it had been custom modified by an exhuast shop and the attached pieces were aluminized. Nice, but my stock system is steel, so I just got the muffler cut into my stock exhaust. It is a beautiful thing, air-craft grade steel with a million mile warranty and the sound is superb.

Yes, I have one and love it. I'm an old Flowmaster die-hard and am very impressed with the JBA (actually K&N) system.

ok so next question is will the system for 97-99 4x2 fit on a 2000 4x4? (jba told me they were going to make one that did but who knows how long it will take)
also is it stupid to get headers before catback?

No, not yet. The weather hasn't been good enough for the 0-60 thing, it being Canada :). As soon as the roads get better, I have a sister who is a pro with a stop-watch (trained race-horses in Florida) who is going to help me.
I did the TB swap with the help of a friend who worked in racing (pit crews) which was lucky because my experience is pretty limited. It isn't that hard if you follow the instructions.
I don't know about supercharging - who knows? Maybe after my mortgage is paid off :) Course, I never thought that I would want headers either.

I got the SS single side Gibson. Installation was a breeze. Taking off the old system was difficult. I hacked the back end of the muffler and you need to make slit cuts long the tube to release the old muffler from the cat tube. The factory clamps makes a indent which the old muffler tough to take off. SS is for longevity. Flometrics 48mm TB is nice. Bernd indicated that the Flometrics has a better gain across the RPMs than a v8 TB. But funds are a concern or you want supercharge it, go with a stock V8 TB and then change to a bigger Flometrics 50mm. The Throttle body spacer is worthless. Check out www.speedtweaks.net.

yeah i know the spacer is worthless....ugh....anyone wanna buy it!!!! :-)
$50 e-mail me.

anyway i ordered the gibson single side (aluminized steel) stainless was to much and if i was gonna get stainless i would have rather had jba at that price.
Is there any way to get the stock system off without tearing it appart cause i sort of want to save it in case the aluminum one rusts or something?
also did it add it more or less then the intake??

Try heating the tubes first and yanking from behind the muffler. I heard extra hands can help. I bought Gibson before JBA bought out K&N. Good luck.
