What is the best exhaust system with the highest and best performance gains on the market? any make and model, i am looking for a good sounding muffler with the best gains...performance over sound though. thanks!

I would not invest too much into just a kat back system, but however, you can go to the common shop called "Midas", and get the free flow muffler by "Raven", and they will put 3" tips on. Cost is about $250, but for a custom shop to do the same thing, your looking at $550 on up, and the sound does not change. Now, if you want a true sound difference, you would need to up-grade to headers, then you would be getting rid of the secondary cat. converter, and only have the one cat. converter before the muffler. Also if you go that far, go ahead and run true duel exhaust with headers. A proven 15% increase in horsepower. With my kat back from "Midas" it dyno'd close to 150bhp, and has excellent sound. If your cat. converter is 5 or more years old, replace it. It's already sucking hp from the motor. My truck is rocket for what it's got (3.9 with 5 speed). Holly/K&N/Raven (Audio: soundstream/clarion/Speakers mech. Eng. my self, and built by R & D Co./Cab is acoustically redesigned/Custom speaker housing panels in doors/12" low freq. driver behind seat & the seat remains in normal positions/1-six channel amp that drives the four mid-bass drivers in the doors, and specialized mid-range in upper door all built in & also being driven is three tit. high freq. drivers (left, center channel, and right). Fully engineered, my self (audio/acoustics eng.)

Oh, the 12" sub is driven by an additional soundstream amp, both amps sit bolted with machine blackened cap screws (There is not a wood screw in the system, all threaded) The rack is removable revealing a 1 farad capacator, although the system really doesn't need it due to soundstreams unbelievable design. Soundstream SA245 (six channel 30watts x 4 & 100 x 1 or 2) & Ref500 Two or mono sub amp (dissipates 500watts)Very versitile system, can produce high sound pressure levels, but designed for accurate sound reproduction. Competetion to me is wasted time.
