Subject: V6 Valve Covers?

Does Mopar make the Magnum black wrinkle valve cover set for the V6?
Also, I was debating which 2 combination should I do first? Already have a Flowmaster 50 delta-force, which made me loose bottom end.

* K&N or Mopar FIPK
* JBA Headers(silver ceramic)
* Flowmetrics 48mm TB (is this worth the $400)
* High flow cat converter

I was thinking of the K&N intake along with the JBA Headers! Yes/No

Thanks

No one makes aftermarket valve covers for our Magnum v6's. The only way to get custom covers is to have yours chromed or powdercoated.

Out of your choices, I would get the Flometrics 48mm TB (yes it is definitely worth the money) and the K&N gen2. The Mopar FIPK is the same thing as the Gen2, but about $50 more.

If you want to save about $150, you could fabricate up a cold air intake out of aluminized exhaust tubing (3"). My cold air intake works great.

If you do the K&N in conjunction with the headers you'll defintely lose more bottom end. You exhaust will be opened up, but your stock TB will definitely restrict airflow.

After you do the TB and cold air intake, then you can do the headers and hi-flo cat. but be prepared to lose a little bottom end when you do. However, the gains in mid-range and top end are definitely worth it.

Thanks Chuck! You're a lot of help! One more Q.

Do the aftermarket roller rockers (Comp Cams/Crower) fit under the stock valve covers?

The 1.6 roller rockers from Crower, Comp Camps, or Crane will fit under the stock covers. The 1.7 rockers will not fit, unless some mods to the covers are done.

Yellowtruck,
Lost bottom end? Wow. I installed single side Gibson exhaust and she felt stronger. I would follow Chuck's advice about a TB and cold air intake. If cost is a concern, then think about installing a stock v8 TB. I installed the Flometrics Billet 48mm TB. I love it. Steep price but worth it if you have funds to burn. Nice piece of hardware. Check the "TB swap" thread. Good luck.

Yea, she lost bottom end. She's great above 3,000, but sucks at the start. She feels like a dirt bike as it gets on the pipe when I hit 3,000 in 2nd or 3rd, but 1st gear has no umff. I'm hoping the intake and TB you guys mentioned helps this. And, no it's not the driver!! :) I race modified 2300 Ford pintos on asphalt circle tracks.
