Does anyone know how to remove the shifter knob, on a 2002 5-speed, it's the same as in the 2001s. I can't figure it out, and don't want to damage anything.

If it's the same as my '99, the black plastic cover on top of the knob pries out using a small screwdriver. There's a lip on it which is "embedded" into the handle so it will take a little effort to get it out. Underneath the plastic cover is a 13mm nut (I think). Unscrew the nut and the handle lifts off.
