A stock factory (5.9L) 48mm TB runs about $220 with a V8 throttle cable. Flometrics Billet 48mm TB runs about $400. These are www.speedtweaks.net prices. With the Flometrics you can gain 2 hp and 10ftlbs in torque over the stock V8 TB. Is it worth the price? Alot say "no" Check some old threads. I went with the Flometrics. Money to waste or annul retentive. The flometrics is a nice piece of work with nice instructions. I think anyone with mechanics skill could swap any TB whether V8 or Flometrics. Good luck.

Make sure you port the V8 TB before you put it on. That will help the airflow and save you having to take it back off later to do it.

The 50mm is too big for a normally aspirated V6. The stock V8 TB or Flometrics 48mm (or Fastman modified V6) all work very well.
While the HP/TQ figures don't look much better on the Flometrics 48mm (as compared to a stock V8 TB), the powerband is much smoother and performance is much more "crisp" than with the stock V8 TB.

You can use the stock V8 TB for now and it will still work well with a 6# supercharger. If you plan on running 9#+, you can swap out to a 50mm TB at that time.
