I have a 87 dakota 3.9 and i just got a tach for it. I am wondering what the red line is? My dad had a 96 and it says like just befor 5,000 but i know that they will take more.
I dont know what (if any) difference would be on the older style pre-mags.
Any help would be great
Also, anyone know how to reset that damn "Check egr" light???

It'll probally take more, yeah... Mine went to 5500 RPM once. But you know what? There isn't -any- power up there. The engine falls flat on it's face before it even hits 5000. About the only thing you get at that speed is the noise.

Ok, but is the redline on the older 6ers different than the magnum gen 2's and 3's???
