Message:
I have a 89 dak, 210K runs great, has a shift kit that is getting tired and you have to let off the gas a little or press the gas a little to make it shift. That wasnt a problem till lately when it started to not shift into od at all. i havent replaced the tranny filter yet but wanted to see what the concensous was?

Thanks,
Mark

I had the same problem in very cold weather (less than -20C).
Found out that it's normal for my 2001, don't know about '89.
I assume you're in Canada (you list your mileage in km) and it's been damn cold all over the country lately.
I was speaking with a co-worker from Timmins, Ont and he said that all the Dodge trucks up there become three speeds for most of the winter.
It's hell on the gas mileage.

next step, speed sensor, or the wiring to it
my wires runnign to it were bad
so it would shift between OD and Drive, then it would stick in Drive
