To effectively get all the gains from a supercharger (V6 or V8), you'll need the following (at minimum):

(1) Modified TB (better air flow into the engine)
(2) 180 Degree T'Stat (Cooler engine)
(3) Headers (better air flow out of the engine)
(4) Custom cat-back exhaust (or at least change out the factory muffler to a highflow muffler)
(5) One step colder on the plugs

Those are the minimum recommendations...not required, but will gain you about 20 more HP with the supercharger.

If you look at the fuel economy side, the V6 will win by about 1-2mpg better.

The difference between the 6# and 9# pulley is about 20HP more as well (engine modifications depending).

Without the nitrous and those basic mods, I was able to clock off 15.4-15.6 second runs. Going by the factory time of my '97 CC V6 SLT (2WD), that's a little under a 2-second gain. Granted, I also have all of the mods listed plus 1.6:1 roller rockers, a mildly modified intake manifold, larger injectors (required with 9# pulley), and a few other "tweaks"...but the average gain will be about .5 seconds quicker with the 6# blower on a stock V6.

it is more cost effective then an engine swap right??

i really am not all that concerned with racing, i just wanted to get a V8 and couldn't find one cheap enough and no I want to feel like I'm driving one. So will it seem like I have a V8??
have u driven RTs? and if so how does yours compare?? and whats ur appox 0-60(just anything within 1 second) cause i have never run a 1/4 and im not sure exactly what 2 seconds would amount to in. although u said your 1/8 was 9.something at 75 and considering at 9 seconds im at like 45 or 50 i guess that is a lot faster
i'm just trying to decide what kind of mods to do now cause i really cant aford a SC at the moment I'm hoping to get one right when my warranty runs out

Not really...you'll have to pay for the engine, PCM, front springs, and driveline parts.

Yes, i've worked on 5.9L Dakota trucks and driven them. Fastest one i've worked on runs a 12.88 @ 111mph (factory PCM to boot). Our sponsored R/T runs a 13.6 @ 98mph and the next one in line for work is a '99 R/T that'll also be in the mid to low 12's (complete top-end rebuild/modification + cam and a few other goodies).

How does mine compare? Very well against the 5.9L's...and gets 2mpg better to boot. ;)

That would depend on gearing, and other "complimentary" modificatons.

Add a V8 TB (at minimum) and you'll be right around the 15.6-15.8 mark with 6# boost. Quicker than the factory 17.2-17.4. :)
