Well Ken, since nobody seemed to be able to help you out here, I'm gonna throw in my thoughts. Outside temp. will affect the air/fuel ratio enough to create driveability problems until the motor temp. reaches a nice, cozy, more optimum temp. that promotes total vaporization of the intake charge. What to do about it? I would try getting in the habit of just letting it "warm up" when it's that cold outside.

Dude I have the same problem right now on my 94. But it threw a code 56 or 52 I dont recall but it's running rich and doing that. I'm pretty sure its my EGR valve or something in that system. But I'm to lazy and busy to look into it more. Just and idea for ya to check out.

Just wanted to let you know your not alone. My truck runs great when it's warm outside but once the weather turns cold when the truck hits operating temp. it begins to buck and misfire then just stalls. I replaced my coil, temp. controll sensor,plugs,cap,wires,rotor.. Truck starts right back up after it starts but a few miles down the road the same thing happens. If i let it sit for 20 minutes after this happens the darn thing usually runs with no problem. not always though. Sorry I could not help ya out but wanted to let you know I got the same problem and My name is Ken also.. could it be the name???

Hey I'm having the same problem. had my codes read and it came up with P1391 "Intermittent Loss of Cam Position Sensor". I ordered one today and will put it on tomorrow night. I will let you know on wed. weather it worked or not.
Just like you on cold mornings my truck starts fine but as soon as it hits normal operating temp. she misfires, sputters and finally stalls. I have to shut the truck off completly and turn the key back on before she will run right again. I go thru this for about stalling every mile or so. This happen for about 15 miles then im good to go until another cold start..

dont feel bad guys mine does it to but it doesnt stall out..chip is right you just need to let it warm up because the combustion chamber needs to get warm enough to fire properly thats all it is and when its that cold out side it takes a minute to let it warm up before you wont get any problems from it..
