Subject: the age old question...

aight, im new to this web page but i must say i am truely impressed with what i have seen on here. but as usual i have some questions that no one where im at can answer for me...

i have a '99 dak cc slt 3.9 AT, that i purchased new and is still under warrenty for a lil bit longer, so far all i have done is a glasspack str8 off the cat, a drop in k&n and an excide orbital, the factory bat finally died and i was sick and tired of a sweeting bat.

right now im in the process of getting a V8 TB, a friend of mine who has the drimal tool has already volentired its us to port out the Tb and if i want to put in the time my intake manifold.

my 1st question is would i get much of a gain out of proting my intake maifold with the addition of the V8 TB? also what kind of ford injectors would be most benificial and what kinda car are they on? i also have a friend that works at the local salvage yard >:)

i also have a question about the IAT adjuster/mod i have noticed that my dak runs the best when the temp outside is in the 70's, is there anyway to make it think that the air temp is always in the 70's?

i also have a tranny issue that concerns me, the dealership says that its nothing but i still think diff.....whenever i get on it either a hard 3/4 or full throttle when ever it gets ready to shift it will stall out for a couple seconds then it will grab and go again, when it stalls everything stays goin, but the tach just sits there and you can hear the motor just stayin at one rev. instead of hittin the shift point and dropin revs for the next gear. any ideas or sugestions? or is this norm for a V6 AT dak?

i also was wondering what everyone would thing of my idea for a home brewed cold air intake...goin to the local exhast shop and havin a piece of 3" stainless tube slightly bent to stop about where the factory air box is
remove the factory air box
add a k&n cone filter
and build a heat shield that goes form the end of where the factory air box is towards the firewall to the front by the radiator and removin that rubber piece by the radiator...then wrapin the tube and heat shield by the motor and firewall in header tape to help resist the heat

im on a limited budget, if there are any other cheaper mods or lil tricks that can be done id be very interested in them. got a certain 4 door plymouth neon with a 2.0 SOHC and a 94 ss s-10 that i would like to atleast hang in with if not beat...its a long story on the neon, maybe ill explain at a later date

any feedback would be apreciated
thanx

Current next mod: V8 TB
next mod: home brewed cold air intake (unless someone has a more efficent idea)
