is it possible i took some basic math and figured with a 4" bore and a 4" stroke on each cylender it would theoreticaly come out as a 5.0 the fourmula goes somthing like this b*b*s*.7854*6 or BORE*BORE*STROKE*.7854*#OF CYLINDERS GIVES YOU CUBIC INCHES OF DISPLACMENT SO 4*4*4*.7854 gives you 50.2656 for 1 cylinder so multiply it by 6 and you get 301 cubic inches. so i bring this upon my fellow v6ers is this possible?

strokerkits.com is workin ona stroker kit for our
v-6s the displacement will push it out to around a
4.7 i believe. their still workin on the final
touches and bringing the price down. theres

yea i read about that but the way i figure its gonna cost about 3200 bucks when i can get my engine bored and cleaned and every thing for free i just need to find a way to make the stroke a complete 4 inches im about half an inch short on the stroke and about 16th of an inch for the bore i want to have a5.0 v6 my motors a pre mag and i want to put a v8 in it ne way so i figure i might as well try it custom make some rods or somthing tell me what yall think. and how much of a bore would be requierd to acomplish the 4 inches if it is currently 3"and 15/16ths all help will be apreiciated

a 4in bore is gonna be .090 over, you cannot do that safely...the blocks cylinder walls are too thin. Mopar reccomends a maximum of a .020 overbore on the magnums, .030 is also possible but on some blocks it is pushing the limits

I don't think you could make the rods any shorter then they will be with the stroker kit because of the geometry. You would have to cut metal out of the inside of the block and i think the water jackets are in the way. You would still be better off with a V8. A mild stroker kit is ok but when you get really extreme with it the engines don't live long.

what about if it was a full all out race application use waterjacket filler and some wet sleeves have some piston heads made that are slightly thinner and some rods that are a little shorter to come out for a 1/2inch gain in the stroke. i only brought this up because i have a 197? 318 out of a motor home and i am going to put it in after i blow this engin up or decide to part it out and since i have accses to a machinest collge i can have all my machine work done for free. how much of a bore would the 318 be able to handel and what would it make it? thanks

the 239 and 318 have the same bore and stroke.
there almsot identical only the addition of two
cylinders on the 318. max to push it would be .040
over according to DC. as dodgeboy said that would
deffinitly be pushing the limit. that would push
the final bore out to 3.95. and thats the farthest
you really wanna go on these blocks. as for that
sroker kits. their tryin to bring the price down
if they can get a differnt forged crank. so thats
part of the reason their still workin on it. so in
time they will hopefully find somethin.
