Hi to every one out there i have a 98 dakota auto and it hasn't been shifting like i have to let off just for it to and when i get to the highest gear it won't go over like 3800 rpm's so 80 is my to speed anyideas

First step when troubleshooting a tranny is to check the level and condition of the fluid. Make sure it's full. Whens the last time it was changed? If the fluids good we could make guesses as to whats wrong but you would really need to pull codes, and cehck pressures to see whats going on. You never know it could even be a engine problem or electrical problem.
