Wish me luck...

I don't care if I lose my license. All I want is to have driving privileges to/from school. I'll let ya'll know how it goes and if I'll be doing any more customizations on the truck.

I'm so nervous... my stomach is churning and I keep dazing off when I sit around thinking. I bout wrecked the truck bad today. I was on my way home from school and I hit black ice as I was crossing the bridge over the interstate. It was weird... I went up the hill, got onto the bridge and the next thing I knew my steering wheel was useless and I was heading sideways towards the wall. The truck came out of it with some time to spare and I got off the ice. I almost hit the brakes and realized that it woulda prolly made me wreck. Had I not come out of the slide so easy I definitely would have eaten that wall. Ah well... I guess next time I'll hit the bridge down the center (if there's no cars coming like usual) so I'll have more room in case it wants to skid again.

Josh, I don't understand what happened to ya.
You hit some black ice and almost took on the guard rail and you're going to court tomorrow.
Did you hit somebody else?

Whatever it was, good luck in court and keep on modding the dak.

lol...no. Sorry I guess I forgot to mention what originally happened a while back for those of ya who didn't see/remember my first post on it. I got a speeding ticket almost a month ago. The court summons came approx. 1 1/2 weeks ago and today's the court date. Since this is my second ticket, I'm guaranteed to lose my license for a min. of 90 days, but the judge told me last time it'd prolly be around 6 months. My dad was talking to some local attorney's and they even said not to be surprised if I lose it for up to 1 year. On the ice, I luckily didn't hit anything...I just slid across the bridge sideways.

Just got back...

Never tell a judge/magistrate/whatever that you just weren't thinking... they'll get you for that one:p

I got a $30 fine for speeding, my license suspended for 4 months, and I have driving privileges to/from school (and work when I get a job). Now I got to take a driving class and redo my license process to get my license back in 4 months...fun.

Second ticket in how long?

Seems extreme to lose your license over a speeding ticket! Ok... 2 speeding tickets!
But still.

Wow, Where are you guys from?
Here in Wisconsin, I don't think you can get a ticket for under $100! At least I've never seen one. One of my friends got pulled over for 10 mph over the limit (on the interstate) and got a $110 ticket! Because he's not 18 he risks loosing his license right there.

I've had my license for 4 months...I just got over my last license suspension 6 weeks ago, so yeah...the judge was a bit pissed at me. I lost it the first time I got a ticket though, which was because the judge said so, not Ohio state law. Ohio state law says that juveniles who get 2 tickets MUST lose their license for a minimum of 90 days, but since the judge warned me about it and it was so soon after the last one, he extended that to 120 days. If I get any more moving violations whatsoever before I am 18, I will lose my license for a MINIMUM of 1 year, and the judge isn't allowed to give out driving privileges at all. I almost got in a wreck today though on my way back to school... stupid old people pulled off the interstate exit ramp onto the road I was on, crossed the left lane and pulled RIGHT in front of me in the right lane. They would have been fine if they would have gone into the left lane and got up to speed, but nooooo, they just had to get in front of me and considering I was doing 35 and they were doing about 20 from pulling out, I woulda blasted their rear-end if I wouldn't have had hit the brakes. I think the only reason I missed hitting them was I just had this weird feeling when I saw them, that they were gonna pull something stupid. I don't know why, they weren't doing anything wrong at all, but I just felt it and switched my foot over to the brake just in case... hmmm. Ah well... what happened happened, so now I'll just prepare for tomorrow's driving:)

GB2000 is right about OHIO law. 2 under 18 gets you suspended.Period.
GB2000... please practice defensive driving, Most accidents I have seen happen are caused by people paying too much attention to their ears and not enough to their driving. or with the attitude you almost "ran into" I want that lane/space/opening and I don't give a damm if you have the right to it or not so I'm gonna take it.
Maybe it was bad luck on my part but I have been almost ran off the road by 3 semi's in the past 2 weeks, changing lanes on the hiway, no-one in front of them to pass and no exit nearby to get in the lane for, just wanted my lane. O dark thirty outside and both main headlights and fogs on so I don't know why they did not see me. All 3 time I was in the passing lane, CB radio on and gave 'em heeell over the radio. One claimed not to see me so a turned on my hand held one million candle power light and shined it at him and asked him then if he saw me. Now whenever I get near one I shine it, not havin problems yet.

wow. after reading all of your messages i realize how lucky ive been with my tickets, or lack there of... being in the coast guard i have to move around quite a bit and so there for i drive a lot. one time about 12 months ago i was going through oklahoma and got pulled over for going 112 in a 70 zone, i talked to the highway patrolleman nicely and showed him my military i.d. and he said be careful and have a good trip. and on two other occasions my i.d. has gotten me outta some pretty high speed tickets.
