my 90 dak convertible over heated on thursday when it cooled down i got it started back up but it had a loud clunk all the way home so i took it apart and it had the #3 piston and rod in pieces in the oil pan would the block still be good or should i have the whole thing looked atand worked on

You would have to probably pull the head and look into the cylinder. You would be *extremely* lucky if the block was good and you could just throw a new piston in there. Most likely you need a new block, or would at least have to have it bored out. But once again you would have to look, if you can feel scratches with your fingernail thats not a good thing.

My 2002 3.9 broke a piston , cylinder is okay ,
You may get lucky , also if the block is damaged
it can be sleeved and rebored to standard in the damaged cylinder , I was quoted 125.00 for that.
