Well you could always hit it with a hammer or run into a tree, that would probably chip it.

And as far as the five speed, probably beats your old 20 speed huffy.

now you know thats..................

Hey Hey. I just got my '03, Flame Red Dak, 3.9L, 5 speed last week. Great truck. Today I got my Tannoe (sp) cover on, as well as FINALLY getting floormats. Those Dodge ones of course. I'm gonna probably go for a flowmaster 40 series muffler next week. I've been partial to Flowmasters since my Cherokee. Gonna go for K&N FIPK as well when I get the money. Not sure what else I really want to do now though.

Dan, shame on you...dissing your V6 that way! I think that's the first time that I've heard you say anything poorly about the castrated 5.2L in our trucks. I'm growing rather fond of my truck downshifting when it's in OD, and I'm trying to maintain speed on a 3 degree grade. ;-0

Guess what my wife told me this evening...since I have 2 pickups and 2 payments between the Dakota and the old truck that I'm still trying to sell...she said why don't I just wait until after the first of the year and trade them both in on a new Ram with the hemi in it? Now, I have no idea if I'd really want to do that...I hate to think of the hit that I'd take on the Dak, but it is food for thought, I must admit. It'd be nice to have a V8 again, and I've already got one Magnaflow that I could put on it...hmmmm

This ia actually my fourth Dodge truck in a row
(77 3/4 ton...1990 Dak w/177K miles! and still got a grand for it !...1998 Ram 1500 with the castrated 5.2 in it..but then again it did have the 5spd as well...and now the aforementioned new Dak) I'd just like to get a bit more oommph to it....I think I'm going to wait for a chip to come out...in the meantime I'll work on getting a Line-X spray on bedliner (I had one in my Ram) and other niceties....kinda suxs not having an adjustable cupholder.....details details details right?.....Maybe Dodge needs to talk to us before they redesign the Dak hehehe

Sic...love the shots of you and your Dak tearing it up...looks like you keep BFGoodrich in business all by yourself !

Ric, I've heard tell that the Jet chip works well in the V6...not so well in the V8. But, that may be for the older trucks, I don't know if that would apply to a 2003 model. I've also heard that the ASE PCM/chip mod does well, but again, I don't know if they do it on the '03's yet.

DakotaDan and I have roughly the same mods in store...he's already installed the K&N FIPK, Crower 1.7 roller rockers, a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, and a V8 throttle body that he ported himself. He reports a noticeable boost in performance from those mods. I have the Crowers, an F&B TB, Intense Performance intake, and the MSD Superconductor wires that I haven't installed yet...waiting for some more miles to get onto my '02 V6...but I've already installed a set of JBA headers, the Super Turbo and a tranny cooler.

Of course, now I'm starting to think about just trading the Dak in on the new RC Ram Hemi, so I might have a bunch of unused parts to sell. Doesn't your Dak have the adjustable cupholders on the center floor console? Don't tell me that they did away with those, too... Maybe, they didn't put those in the 4x4 QC's...mine's a RC 4x2.

Hey Dan! LOL!! You are cold and heartless, putting that new pic of the Ram and HEMI on your profile...and in my co-favorite color, Garnet Red, next to Graphite. Now, I'll be reminded of my lust for a HEMI every time that I see one of your posts! Is this going to be a race to see who gets their HEMI first? hehehe...P
