Sorry for the length in advance My 94 is throwing a code 52 which means its running excessively rich. I had it on the scan tool and cant find anything wrong. other then the pulse width of the injectors was about 1.5 I think it was which seemed a little long. Tested all the injectors and none have leaks. I replaced the fuel pump three weeks ago and i have just found out that the check valve is bad in it. Would this cause the code 52 or any other suggestions I am stumped as well as everyone who is helping me. sorry for the length of the post.

I have a '93. Have you changed your oxygen sensor? This is the most common cause of rich running, and the easiest to cure. Did the code show up before you replaced the fuel pump? If it was OK before you changed the pump, check your fuel pressure. High fuel pressure will cause the injector "on time" to shrink, in response to the excess fuel pressure, but it is programmed from the factory to operate within a "time window", that was determined at the factory during the testing/certification process. My experience with my Dakota, and the V6 Caravan I had before it, leads me to believe that Mother Mopar has adopted a minimalist attitude toward engine controls, which is good from the KISS viewpoint. It makes it easier to troubleshoot, with less to go wrong. But it also assumes that no one is ever going to modify their engine, or the intake or exhaust systems. Which is what the Feds don't want us to do anyway (wink, wink).
