Dude... your askin' too much... Where's Bernd and Intense39 when you need them... Maybe a couple other mods like v8 throttle roller rockers, supercharger/turbocharger, and nos? Maybe someone else to tell you if it possible to beat the r/t... The 4.3 jimmy on the other hand shouldnt be that big of a challenge. Are you auto, or standard?

LOL...

yeah you are gonna need more money than that. With a nitrous express kit, muffler and intake you should easily stomp all stock RTs and lightly modified.

3.9 No Oil Pressure 93 Dakota
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 3.9 that has no Oil pressure at idle. I have a mechanical gauge and therefor assume it is a true reading. The problem has been consistant for 1 year now and I have changed the oil pump. The sound of the engine hasn't changed and it still runs great. Is there another port that I can take a reading form or what do you think the problem is??

I too have a friend with a 02 RT.(Stock) He has ran a best of 15.7 e.t. Could I beat him in my 92 Sport 3.9 auto? My mods: Mopar Computer,v8 tb, K&N,Flowmaster,Fms #19 injectors,Tps mod, removed rubber flap,rollpan,24 inch tires as opposed to the 27 inchers it had.
I have a 3.55 open diff. and traction is a bit of a problem. I know that I have to be a lot lighter than the RT. I took it to the track when all it had was a muffler and it ran a best of 17.0 e.t. Let me know what you think.

Not unless the guy driving the RT is just plain dumb. Even with all my mods i dont come anywhere close to beating a RT.

When I rode in my friend's rt, it just seemed like it was hauling a trailer or something. It seemed like it was too heavy. Still very strong though. I think it would be within .1 tenth of a second. I might be able to beat him. He would be pretty embarrassed because I only have $2,000 in my truck. Not too bad considering the 02 rt costs more than 10 times more!!!

Harold, you have to do a lot more than just a TB and muffler to get down into the 15's, which is where the r/t should be. You need ignition, TB, injectors, nos or supercharger...some drag slicks and practice on drag racing b/c that is a huge part is driving.

NOSDART68,: you are headed in the right direction, but a posi rear end would help some with you traction problems.. if you are lucky, i think those mods got you a second off your time, but i could be wrong... there is no substitute for displacement when it comes to HP

ok the past 2 nights i have had 2 races with rt's one cc with an exaust and a cuda hood, and one rc all stock. here is my mod list... 48mm tb, jba headers, intake, exaust, msd setup, s-bolt, 3923's, 180 thermo, iat mod, 4.10's powertrax, leaf spring clamps, trans cooler, lowered, i mighta forgot something.

me vs. stock rc rt, from a dead stop, by 50 he was clearly ahead of me 2 truck lengths, taking off from 50 i slowy pulled away untill 90

me vs. cc r/t, from a dead stop it was dead even, from 60 i pulled away quite a few truck lengths.

higher gears do help on the highway (as well as drink gas) the only way they will have negative effects is if the truck was able to go past the rev limiter, thus you would not have as high of top speed.

WTF- LOL!!! I always wanted to flame those types also.

Intense and heff are right, you need nitrous and the small mods to support it to beat a properly running R/T.
I dont have any extensive mods and have raced 3 of em, only one had any mods and they were just bolt ons but I havent lost to one yet.
I raced the first 2 on 75 shot and the last one with mods I had 100 shot. I ate the last one pretty good he was soooo pissed.

Good luck and keep us posted.
