I have a 92 3.9 with a 5-speed. I need to know can I swap an automatic for the manual. If not, where can i get parts for the tranny and motor.

why would you want and auto? you can pull so much
more out of the engine with the 5spd.and its jtu
that much more fun to drive.
rebuilt-auto-engines.com they have a link for
rebuilt transmissions. a good place to start. they
can find one in your local area. if you really
want it that bad

son is getting ready to drive and I'm giving him the truck. Mom doesn't think he can do a manual but I'd rather him drive the stick instead of the automatic. The Manual tranny is shot only 2 gears left. The whole drive train has about 200,000 miles on it.

I passed up the manual for an auto in my dak. I had a 6-speed in my camaro ss, why would i want to shift a pickup?

because it makes driving more fun as far as i'm concerned and then you know how to drive anything. you never know when it'll be useful. i'd say you jsut get a rebuilt manual. but thats jsut my 2cents

also having the manual means you have to pay more attention to the road inorder to drive properly. thats always a good thing.
