Hi guys,
I was kinda curious about some of you guys that have 5 speeds. How long did your clutch last before you replaced it? Or how many miles do you currently have on your factory? I didn't change mine out until I had 165,000 miles on the original clutch! It wasn't even slipping when I put in a new one, the only reason I changed it is because the throw out bearing finally gave way. That damn thing had been rattling for years and years. It finally just came apart so I put in a new clutch and pressure plate while I had the tranny out.
By the way, if you ever do need to replace your clutch, take my advice and get a good one. I went with a cheapy brand from AutoZone or OReily, I can't remember which, but the pressure plate is WEAK! It has about as much pedal pressure as a damn Toyota, not to mention catching a 3rd gear scratch is out of the question with this crummy clutch. If I was doing it again, I'd get alot better aftermarket one, or an OEM.

I replaced mine after 74,000. The Clutch disc looked like brand new but the bearing was making noise and i was having hydraulic problems.

I replaced it with a CenterforceII.

Mine went out on me at 58k and set me back about $1000. When I asked the dealership they said it was normal, yah right. The truck is only a '98 to boot and no mods, yet.
