Here's a pic of mine after I put the 2000 Durango wheels on it. I think it looks much better! All I've done to it is take off the cat., k&n filter, replaced clutch fan with electric fans off of a Camaro LT1,(fits perfect!). It has 182,000+ miles on it and still runs good.

nice truck looks just like mine. my question for you is, did those new rims you put on bolt right up? Do you have any clearance problems? also what year of the car did you get the electric fan off of, I would like to do the mod also. Thanks

As far as the wheels, yes...they do bolt right on, BUT... they do rub just a little on tight turns but it's not bad at all. Also, if you'll notice the front wheels don't have the center caps on them. That is because the dust cap sticks out past the hole. I'm going to have to take the front wheels back off and either find a shallower dust cap or beat these down about 1/2". I MAY have to grind a little off of the spindle, but not sure yet.
The electric fans are off of a 97 Camaro, but they are the same from 95 and up on all LT1 Camaro's and Firebirds. You can find them in a junkyard for around $75 or so. Don't even waste your time buying electric fans from an auto parts store. These things pull twice as much air. After I put in a 180 thermostat, these thing runs way cool. I've got the fans hooked up to come on when I turn on the key.

Thanks for the information, I hope that you dont have to many problems with the rims, this is probably a stupid question but could'nt you just space the rims out a little to get a little more clearance?

You could space them out more, BUT the dust cap sticks out at least 1/2" through the opening. You would have to go at least that far out to clear it and that would look like shiot. A little grinding on the A arm will solve the rubbing problem. I think the only place it rubs is on the inside of the wheel where wheel weights attach. It shouldn't take much grinding to solve that.

Yes they do, but a bandsaw will solve that problem quick. I will have to cut off some of the spindle and grind on the A arm a little for clearance. It sounds like a major undertaking, but it will be fairly simple. Shortening the spindles won't hurt anything, plus it will look alot better with center caps on the wheels instead of an ugly ol' dust cap protruding out :) I'd like to do it this weekend, but here in south Texas the weather has had no mercy. It makes it tough to do anything when it rains all damn day.

Thanks now I know what those rims will look like on my truck, and I like it. I hope the weather turns out better for you this weekend so you can get it done.
