I had recently made an intake out of pcv and a K&N filter for my 3.9. I didn't snug it up very well to the hat so it keeps on falling off. Anyway, i had notice power when it falls off compared to when it is on. I know that filters have some restriction, but I didn't think that it was going to be THAT noticable.

Yeah there is quite a bit of a difference in power, mostly at high rpm's. What size filter is on there, sometimes the real small ones are kindof restrictive.

Yeah i bought a $70.00 APC honda civic intake for my '01 3.9 and it bolted right up and haven't had any problems. My coment is that i didn't really notice a power increase.I'm thinking maybe buying an aprox. 9" K&N filter to pull in a little more air than the included APC blue filter look alike? What do u think? I also took off the piece of plastic in front of the radiator.
Thanks,

I have put on a cone K&N filter. At the top it's about 9" diameter and the bottom is about 5" around. I don't think its that small. Like I said, I'm having a hard time making sure the pvc stays on the hat. Maybe I'll try some of that flexable aluminum duct. Looks kinda flimsy though. Wonder if anybody used this for an intake?

Can't go wrong with a K&N! What size diameter pipe are you using for the intake? That might be the problem too?
