anybody know how to get the shifer knob off of an 02? I've got a bobble-head doll head I want to put on there for a few days as a joke, but I couldnt figure out how it comes off and didnt want to just "pull" until it did. Hell, I dont need any more broken parts on my truck.

You need to use a screw driver to pry the black cap off of the top. (The shift pattern is printed on the cap.) Once you remove the cap, there is a nut inside that you have to remove and then the shifter knob will come off.

I cant take mine off. When I turn the nut the whole rod turns. I will have to put the shifter i a vise then go for it. I figure right now I dont need it off that bad.

Use a strap wrench or a vice grip. I used a vice grip at the base of the shifter (I rolled back the rubber boot) and a socket for the nut. It came off just fine.
