does any 1 know what front diff i have on my 02 dak sxt 4x4 cc ? i think its an 8.2 is this correct? also has any on swaped it out in order to get some lower gears? is it possible?the lowest ive found are the 3.92 and i have to have at least 410s thanks in advance mike

As far as the gears go, you can alter your tire size diameter to create the effect of the taller gear ratio, check out http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

adjusting tire size will effect gear ratio, zooch t/a is right. but you want to lower you ratio (raise gear #) which will require you to put a smaller tire diamater on. i assume you want to lower your ratio so you can put bigger tires on. i think you have a dana front axle, im not sure but in the back you have an 8.25. i'm pretty sure you can find a lower ratio than 3.92, try precision gear, richmond gear, reider racing, randys ring and pinion. most of these companys can be found in any type of 4x4 truck mag. also try the offroad dak board, hope this helps.
