PVC would definitely make a difference. And what DakDude posted makes a lot of sense. I've tried waiting to shift with my 99 Dak and it's made a huge difference in power.

i have a 2001 3.9 v6 auto regular cab 4x4. bought it dec 9 2004 with 20900 miles. it is jan 29, 2005 now and has 23,900 miles. it just stalled for the 3rd time sinse i bought it. after the first stall i added dry gas and fuel injector cleaner and a k&n air filter and upgraded to 89 octain. after the second stall i put in autolight 3923 plugs and a brass cap and rotor and a flowmaster 50 delta flow and reset the pcm. it stalled again today. evertime it stalled the engine was warm and i was in a parking lot. the first time i just pulled into a spot and still had in drive, the second and third time i was accellarating from a complete stop and turning left.
a truck this new should not stall, and yes i feel it guzzles alot of gas for such little power.

I have been here on the boards for a bit soaking up information here and there. I have had a few of these stalls also, total of 2 always seems to be when I am in a turn also and maybe placing strain on the motor due to the turn and the power steering with how low the RPM's are maybe that might be why it konks out.

I have a problem with my truck. I have taken it to the dealership and they were unable to duplicate the problem. The problem I am experiencing is a slam (for lack of better description) almost like I get hit by someone when I am on an off or on ramp when I am merging to the right.

David R - You should re-post this issue as a new topic and thread.

Your description will need more detail such as how the effect feels from the driver's seat, when under hard acceleration or not? Any popping sounds? A "slammed" feel while driving is extreamly spooky and perhaps dangerous. Indicate year and model.

Old posts indicate the slamming felt by David R was caused in certain years by inadequate gas tank baffling. You might try to find them and see if there was a way to correct this problem. Seem to remember it happened more often when the gas tank was partially full more than when full or almost empty.

Try the fuel pump. I've had two dakota's- a 99 and presently an 03 and have had to replace the fuel pumps on both at 80 to 100k mi. The 99 fuel pump problems started with stalling and the 03 just plain quit at an intersection.

I have a 2002 Dakota SPort, with a 3.9L V6 Auto, and i had a very similar problem to this. I am somewhat of a mechanic, since i go offroad alot. I have a 4" suspension lift on my truck, and ever since i got that installed, My truck has been stalling if i just sit there, and rev my engine, either in Park or Neutral. I talked with a friend of mine, who is also a mechanic, and he said he had the same problem with his 2000 Dakota SPort. I replaced my 02 (oxygen) Sensor, and that seemed to cure the problem in a jiffy. Apparently my truck wasn't getting enough oxygen. So try replacing the 02 sensor, and cleaning your entire air intake system. That means disconnect the hoses, and vacuum, or blow out the tubes. Also replace the air filter, and see if that works for you. It did for me and my friend! ~Mark~

Dodge, please make ball joints with grease fittings so my tires won't fall off my truck.

Also the emergency brake cables on the 2004 Dakota are a joke. What were you thinking?
