I went through this same decision, After reading about guys loosing their low end TQ or not feeling anything at all after all the work putting them on, I opted to go with Crower 1.7 RR's , It's like adding a mild cam to your truck without all the work of installing one. They won't hurt your low end TQ, and you will feel the difference starting around 2k rpm and up.

JBA Ceramic Headers $400.00+
Crower 1.7 RR's less than $400.00

Just a little something for you to think about before you spend you dough

I got mine from http://www.crower.com/ At the time I got mine I didn't know Sam at http://www.socaldakota.com/ sold them but he has a good price on them also. They are not hard to install if you have some mechanical background. Here are some sites that helped me with my install and decision to buy them. Also do a search for "Crower" on this site and you will find more info.

I put my headers on after the RR and I noticed a little more on the mid range. The water temp seems to stay down better also.

i just put on a set of JBA headers, of course header studs had to break in the head, so i can't really put them to the test, but monday my buddy's dad is gonna fix it, so i'll let ya know. They are really nice headers, i also got the platinum gauges from Nu Image, those are nice!

DakotaDan makes a good case for rockers vs. headers. If you're going to do one or the other, I'd agree that the rockers are the ones to opt for. I'm planning on doing both as money permits, so I'm going to start with the headers, knowing full well that I may in fact lose a bit on the lowend at first. Personally, I just like the thought of the headers on my truck over the heavy, more restrictive stock manifolds. I also want to get the manifolds off before I have to deal with a broken stud or 2, like many have reported they've faced. I plan to go with the JBA silver ceramic headers when I get the cash together. I wish that we had a few more choices for headers than just the JBA's. I saw a report that compared shorty headers for a Mustang 5.0, and the JBA's came in last as far as power producing results went. MAC came in first. I don't know if this'd be the case for the V6, but I'd feel better about having a choice.

hey pistolero, truckperformance.com is having free shipping on all JBA headers for a while. as far as the broken studs, just hold up the header as you get to the last 1 or 2 studs and you should be alright.

Use a LOT of wd-40 or JB-80
