I'm having trouble finding a cap & rotor. Since I already have the plugs I don't want/need the Speedtweaks tune up kit. Any suggestions for brand/partno/dealer?

TIA, Chris

Just go to your local auto parts store and tell them you need a Borg Warner dist. cap and rotor w/ brass contacts. Do a search on the board here and you can verify the part numbers. I picked mine up for $11.00.

Go to Napa. Napa and Borg Warner cap and rotors are one in the same.

Thanks guys. I spent another 1.5hrs searching the forums & found the BW partnums, and someone said Pep Boys carried them. Picked 'em up last night:
Cap - C273, Rotor - D223 for $14 w/tax

of course the Pep Boys website does not list Borg-Warner, so I previously didn't think they would stock them.

I searched the NAPAonline website yesterday as well after seeing they were the same, but they didn't list any caps/rotors for '00 Dakota...and they're on the other side of town.

Wow, the stock cap & rotor looked like crap when I pulled 'em off with a bit under 40k miles. How long are caps & rotors good for? Should be a BIG improvement.

91k on stock? Yeah it's worth doing. I asked a guy at work ('65 stang hot rod) & he guessed every 25-30k. I had my truck in to the dealer for a 30k prior to moving out here, but they didn't replace 'em. I doubt all the corrosion & wear I'm seeing just happened in the last 9k miles.

By the way, BIG difference like I thought. I drive over 600 miles/wk, and now on my day off I want to drive it more. Now how in the heck can I justify headers to my wife?

Mine was burned and quite nasty at about 22k miles. I was surprised also! It looked like moisture had gotten under mine, some of the contacts were corroded. Really surprised, considering it still ran pretty good. The Borg & Warner replacement made a nice difference. :0)

injectors off, I can do that. Take air hat off, relieve fuel pressure at back drivers side of rail. Use 1/2" socket and take 6 bolts off, 3 on bracket behind ac, one on back drivers side holds a bracket that holds a vacume thingie, and 2 on pass side. Grab both side rails and shake and pull. When you go to put it back in, use liquid silicone on the o-rings, makes it much easier!!!!
