Want to replace fuel pump in 92 Dakota 3.9 V6.The rollover valve will not let me get a hose into the tank to remove the fuel. Will removing the line into the frame filter allow all of the fuel to drain. Any suggestions.

leave the fuel in. use a floor jack with wood to support the tank. lower the tank enough to repl the pump.

I did exactly what 88dak said when i changed mine. I had a little under a full tank too. Just be careful when you put the new pump in that the float is not hanging up on the wall of the tank. When I changed mine I did not do this, and after I got it all back together and running, I noticed that my fuel gauge didn't go under half tank because it was stuck on the wall.
