I just noticed that there seems to be an oil leak in front of the back wheels of my 1994 Dodge Dakota. What could it be?

How far in front of the wheels? What does it look/smell like? Theres no oil back there, maybe either brake fluid or gas.

About a foot in front of the wheels. I wondered if it could be brake fluid but it is dark like oil and just a small amount. Thanks for the response!

Crawl underneath with a MAGLITE (God I love these!) and try to trace it back. It's -possible- that the leak is further up but is just running down the frame rail... but yeah, the only thing right there is the brake lines.
