I have a 2001 Dakota and I get the squeak every now and then when I roll over the incline of a driveway. I have no idea of what is causing it.

I had a rather large "squeak" in the front of my 01 3.9 CC 4x4 when I went over dips in the road and large bumps. Took it to the dealer and it ended up being the torsion bar was installed wrong at the factory. they reinstalled it and all is well.

My 98 2wd front right squeaks only when the wheels are pointed straight. When I'm turning they don't. Thought it may have been the cold. It's warm now. I've sprayed gray, silicone, and WD40. The squeak is still there. Help.

I had the same problem on my 96 DAK 4x4. The squeak was resonating down the torsion bar. It was some sort of bushing in the front end that the torison bar connects to. I had the shop put some penetrating oil on, the squeak will come back though by the time your next oil change rolls around. If anyone knows a true fix please e-mail me kkseabloom@hotmail.com

Hope that helps

I figured out the cause of my problem after fiddling with the front end and lubing all the bushing and other moveable parts. I'm not familiar with the technical names but is was coil spring rubbing on the lower suspension arm. I put some silicone in the "tray" and the squeak was gone.

I had the same problem. It is the rubber bushings on the control arms. I kept spraying WD40 or Rustcheck oil on it. It kept coming back when the oil dried out. But I have now solved the problem. I traded the truck in on a new import car. I loved my truck, but got sick of the dam problems that keeped coming up. From lose parts to tranny problems. Dodge needs to seriously improve its quality and reliablity. Nice looking trucks but expensive with the cost of gas and expensive to keep maintained outside of warrenty. Though I would like to thank everyone on this site for helping me out with your suggestions to problems that came up with the truck. This site is a great resource. I wish you all luck with your Dakotas.
