Got a plenum plate from Speedtweaks a week or so ago, but it came without any bolts. Tried to call and email, but couldn't get a responce. Does anyone know if it is safe to use the factory bolts bsck in the new plate? Need to get it together this weekend, need help or opinions about reuse of bolts. Thanks.

I just checked my '99 FSM and there was no mention of not reusing the plenum bolts (unlike the huge warning about not reusing the intake bolts). With that said I would say that it's safe to say that you can reuse them. Besides you're only torquing to 85 in. lbs.

Thanks for the reply. My concern was the 1/4"
plenum plate may take special bolts. Can't get hold of Speedtweaks, kit was shipped without the bolts in it. I've been down for 2 weeks, need to get back on the road this weekend. Again Thanks.

I ordered the same billet plate from them and the bolts I received were the exact same ones that I took off the stock plenum. There's still plenty of thread left for a very secure connection.

Did you receive the red Loc-tite with the kit? If not go to your local auto store and pick some up and apply as according to the directions.

I don't know why you didn't receive any bolts. I just checked their website, but it's still down so i can't see if bolts are supposed to be included or not. Like I mentioned though, my kit came with them.

John,

I tried to respond but the emails kept bouncing back. We finally have a fresh stock of bolts in-house. I'll get them out to you on Monday.

Chuck,

The bolts with the kit are hardened (grade-8+) bolts. Not quite the same as factory but look identical.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid they may not be the same. I'll put off the install till next weekend. Thanks everyone for the help.

I had to use the factory bolts. The bolts from Speedtweaks never showed up. My truck has been down way too long. I thought they would be here by Friday if sent out Monday. Don't know who didn't come through. Hope there will be no problem with them.
