i tried to start my 97 dak outside of the local movie store and it wouldnt start. would not even send any power to the engine. i called my dad to come give my dead battery a jump. he jumped me and i started revving it to get the alternator powering everything. well when i let off the throttle and let it idle, it died again. we had to jump it 4 times on the way home because of me letting the rpm's get too low. is this just a dead battery or is there sumpthing else wrong. it just happened all of a sudden. did not start funny until that moment. thanks for any help!

Charge or replace your battery, that is the root of your problem.

Take it to Wal-Mart & have them check your battery. It's free & if it is the battery you can buy 1 while you are there.

It's the battery alright. The same exact thing happened to my truck too. The battery had a dead cell in it and would not hold a charge anymore. Lucky for me, that my dad is also a battery dealer =)
