 Subject: how do i check differential fluid level?

plan on changing fluid in rear-end, but right now i just want to check the level... is that what the plug in the rear is for? should it be just level w/ that?

Yeah, just take the fill plug out and fill it until the gear oil starts to spill out the hole.
To check it just stick your finger in the hole and make sure you can feel oil just under the level of the hole.
