Subject: Any Advice????

Message:
I bought a 2002 Dak QC 4x4 in Feb of this year. It is the "magnum" 3.9L V6 with a
4speed automatic transmission. The truck has no take off power, takes forever to get up to
speed. There is a delay between mashing the gas and the truck responding, so turning the tires over are out of the question. It sometimes fails to shift when it should (seems to want to stick in a gear and not shift, pushing rpms into the 5ks). Is this normal for this model truck? Is
there anything that can be done to this truck to give it more take off/acceleration? Or anything that can be done to at least move me back in the seat a little.I've heard
of Cold air intakes, and Cat back exhausts and maybe a new computer pragram, but most
of this stuff means very little to me (I'm no MotorHead....Yet!!) I don't even know what an IAT sensor is. Can this stuff really help or
should I start shopping for a new truck? If the mods can help, what would you recommend and what's the
price range? I would greatly appreciate any advice!!!

I love the look of the daks but I may have to look elsewhere if I can't get any help....

your first step was right by coming to this board.. next you need to browse through all the past posts in here, you'll learn a LOT! finally, once you have all your options together.... just do it! but if you want basics, go with what the infamous bernd recommends:

*cold-air intake (varies by how much you want to spend)
*cat-back single exhaust
*relocate your IAT (costs about five bucks)
*those autolite 3923's
*throttle body (46mm modified fastman, 48mm flowmetrics/APS, or just swap for a v8 tb)
*headers

after these, you can go as crazy as you want!

From what you said, I think you -really- need to look into the TPS voltage adjustment as well, and the Throttle Body cable adjustment. maaRTe'a suggestions sound good too!
