I am going to get a new muffler as soon as i find out the right one. Please help me with figuring out the one to get. I want a nice low deep growl. I don't want to have a loud rice burner so i know that Flows40 series is no good. I was thinking of going with the 50 series delta flow but i have heard that Gibson gives the sound i want and that Borla is nice and deep. I went to the muffler shop and they said they could put on a Borla or Flowmaster 50 series delta flow but I don't know which Borla to get. I looked on their website and there are two different styles of mufflers. And I have a 2000 3.9 V6 Dakota Thank You for any help.

why does every body think the 40 series sounds like a rice burner i have one with single in duel out and out the back it sounds awsome at idle it sounds deep like a v8 and at higher rpms it sounds like a deep v6.

I think these guys are talking what it sounds like from inside the cab. I have done a listening test to mine and on the highway cruising it sounds great, deep low purr. From a stand still if you have a heavy foot it will be loud til you get to speed.
It is just a matter of what you want sound wise I think.

my gibson single exit sounds pretty good, it doesn't sound like a v8 or anything but its fine. it sounds great when you first start up the car and in low rpm's. can't hear it too much on the freeway, though.
