Subject: JBA 9mm wires

Message:
Well today i ran all around town trying to find autolite 3923 plugs, Borg Warner Distributor Cap and rotor, and Robertshaw 180 T-stat. To complete this batch of upgrades i wanted to get some JBA 9mm wires, but since speedtweaks is closed till the 28th, I wanted to know how big of a difference there was between the 9mm wires and the 8mm wires. Cause i can get the 8mm wires from Truckperformance.com for $40. I wanted to get all this done relatively soon because i am driving back to colorado for school on the 3rd and i am going to my grandfathers house to do all of this since he has all the tools.

So in short i wanted to know is how big of a difference is there between the JBA 8mm and 9mm wires.

and one more quiestion. The borg warner cap i got from pep boys doesnt say select on it but the rotor does. Is there a borg warner cap and a borg warner select cap or is the same thing?

Thanks in advance
Brian

i think i remember from a post long ago that the only difference between the 8mm and the 9 mm was the thickness of the insulator

kryp2night is right. its only 1mm differance in the thickness of the insulator. I would (am) going with the 8mm

oh just a FYI, summit sells the taylor wires (same makers as the JBA wires) for about $5 cheaper than truckperformance. (at least on the v8 wires)

no, keep the stock gap. or if you want to experiment, change the gap and see what you get. i would keep the stock gap unless you get a differant coil and a ignition amplifier like the msd box

Yeah I will keep that gap, untill I get my msd and blaster coil. It is doing a good job right now so I will leave it alone.

If there is no difference in performance what is the advantage of having 1mm extra of insulator?
