I need someone to put a tourqe wrench on their 3.9l belt tensioner and find out how much lbs it takes to move it. I think mines bad, or something. It didnt seem to take much to move it when I was swaping crank pullys. Now it squeals when the air is on. The day before I put pully on I ran air and no nosies. Please, someone do this for me. The damn dodge book dont tell me how to check it. :((

I'll check this tonight when I get home from work about 4:30 Pacific. When I replaced my serpentine belt I remember it being pretty stiff.

I noticed when I changed my belt that the tensioner didn't seem to tighten the belt good. I squirted it down with W-D 40 and now it springs back just fine.

In process of replacing my water pump on 94 3.9. I noticed my tensioner was sort of sized up so I hose it down with WD 40, seems OK. But, help. I can't get the stinking nut off that is threaded to the water pump shaft. I have a 1-7/16' wrench but can't stop the pulley from moving. Help please. Is there a special tool for the pulley?

To take the fan off the pully?? Yes their is a special tool that autozone carrys. You have to put down a 50 bux dep, but it makes QUICK work of that.
