Subject: what happened to my brakes

ok heres the problem I have a 94 dakota 4x4 with the v6 and everything was fine until a couple days ago now everytime I push the brakes the pedel is hard but the truck hardly slows down. So my question is whats wrong? maybe a bad master cylider? brake booster?(if its the booster doesnt it affect the idle too?) the calipers and rear drums are working too I've checked that. any help would be appreicated thanks guys later

Sounds like the vacuum assist isn't working. I'd be checking your vacuum lines, and after that, the vacuum assist assembly (Big thing behind the master cylinder). My guess is if up put both feet on it and push like crazy, it works, right? If so, the Master Cylinder is probally fine.
