Subject: I'm so proud of my truck!

Today after coming home from seeing "Mr. Deeds" I was at this light with this chevy v8 truck with exhaust and all these guages on his pillar and he just sat there so I thought nothing of it. I usually don't race anyways, even if someone wants to. I felt in the mood tonight though. Just my luck, I glance in the next lane and my buddy is like "Man, that Miata is totally starin' you down. Do it up." So I gave it a rev, and he followed suit. I took off without dumping the clutch so I bogged down before taking off. After the bog I was fairly similar acceleration wise despite being a couple car lengths behind. To my surprise I slowly started creeping up until I was only like a car length behind. I thought that was crazy, common a Miata, supposed to be a sports car. He must have just sucked at driving a stick or something, not known where his rev limiter was so he was shifting too low. I dunno, i'm still proud of the o'll 6er :)

The next light we got to, that truck that wasn't doing anything before had now started revving his engine at me. So I revved mine but instead of doing a for sure bog down launch, I held the revs at about 3-3300 and let it go. The tires screeched and I left him behind. *He didn't race* But it was still an awesome launch, especially since I could see a little bit of smoke trailing my tires. I was so happy.

Oh yea, we pulled up to the Miata right after our little race and my buddy said "Ha, it's a truck buddy!" He didn't look to impressed with that comment so he took off.
