Hi all. Anyone here do any towing with their clutch fan removed? I have a 99 v6 club cab 4x4 5sd w/ 3.92 rear. My waterpump just died so while everything is all torn apart, and since I couldnt find a replacement clutch fan anywhere in the state of PA except for at the dealer, I was thinking of putting an electric fan in. I have a 2000lb camper that I tow and a 2500lb john deere tractor that I haul. I bought a mopar performance 180* thermostat to stick in there as well. Any ideas if an electric fan can keep this little motor cool while towing this stuff?

if i was doing that much towing i would put on two fans... either two on one side (like a 2 12" fans side by side) or have one a pusher and one a puller.... if you do that you should get at least a 14-16" size fan

I tow with mine all the time. Haven't towed in anything above 80 degrees though.

I tow a 3000 lb trailer, have a 16 inch puller electric fan,and run the AC here in California, also use a coolant additive to help lower temperature, and a 180 thermostat, runs just fine with no problems yet.
