I have a 1990 Dak V6. Has dual flowmasters, K&N cold air homebrew kit, soon to have edlebrock headers. I am thinking about getting a Jacobs Ing. coil. What do you think? I have heard they add about 10hp to the truck. Thanks for the info.

And what abou the Jet chips for early 3.9L's. Are they worth the $250.00? What hps and torque specs? Thanks again.

Geez Joe. I thought you were in college? Rich Uncle pass away lately? (just kidding!)

I have all the mods you're considering. I have a Jacobs Ignition system. I went with the Omni Torquer, which is a little milder than the Pro Street, but is still effective up to 6,000 RPM's. AWESOME! You'll love any ignition mod.

I have the JET Stage II chip in my '89. This was the last of my mods. You will need 91 Octane with that chip, but WOW! After the K&N filter, Jacobs ignition, Mopar headers, Borla exhaust, and the JET Stage II chip, the truck will run so strong you wont even recognize it! I think the JET chip will be the crowning event in your mods, assuming you're only doing "bolt-on" mods, and not the deep engine stuff. Yes, that setup is extremely effective!

You can see my mods at:

or...

For the best prices...try either Summitracing.com or keep an eye on eBay for those mods. I got my Jacobs setup for $200.

TigerDak,
How long and for how many miles have you had your Jacobs ignition installed? Did you see an improvement in gas mileage?

I had spoken with Jacobs at SEMA and they recommend the Pro-Street system for our trucks as they didn't see any noticeable gains with the Omni system.

TigerDak, this is a long range plan type of thing. Right now, I am about to buy the Edlebrock headers and the Jacobs Ing. Coil. That will do it for a while. I have a contracting job right now painting portions of an apt. complwx. So that will bring in some more Dak $. Maybe I can get those fiberglass fenders I want then. I have a weak spot for my truck. I do very little else other than working on my truck. Well, thanks for the info, I am going to get those headers and coil this week and I will inform you all of the progress. Thanks again

I am talking about fenders in general. I have contacted a company that builds fiberglass fenders for Gen III daks. I asked them about custom making me a set. I will find the reply just to make sure that I was not mistaken, but I think they said about $500.00 for a set. There is another post here somewhere about these fenders. Cant bring up exactly where but it has info on these fenders. Talk to you later.
