It's already removed in the pic...see where the big gap is where you can see into the engine compartment. The flap that used to cover that. Sorry for the tiny pic...cardomain kinda raped it.

There may be a little difference but the amount is gonna be so small you prolly wouldn't notice unless maybe you dyno'd it before and after...

I just did the same thing this past weekend, took off the silencer tube, moved the rubber flap and I went one step further, I took my dremel and basicly ground out all the horizontal "grids" in the bottom of the stock airbox. Now all I have are the bars that run the long way in the airbox. Needs a little more work to smooth everything out the way I want it. Hopeing that maybe just having the plasic bars that run the length of the box might straighten the air out a little before it gets to the k&n drop in filter. Sounds much better than before and there is a little bit more power compared to before. Still runs pretty good for having 95k on it.
