Somethings up with my truck all off a sudden it has absolutely no power. I used to be able to cruise in second gear and when i floored it the tires would spin and the rear would kick out. Now i can barely do that in 1st. Theres no check engine light and it sounds good. Bad Gas, clogged fuel filter? Where is the fuel filter on a 96 magnum V6 Dak Sport? Also i think the clutch may be starting to slip, but that's not related to the engine problem because the engine doesn't seem to want to rev up as quickly as it did a few weeks ago when i would step on it. Is there anyway to check for clutch slippage without a dyno? Is the clutch adjustable like on my Ford?

Thanks guys,
-Jon

Sudden loss of power seems to be a sign of a bad catlytic convertor (IE: Clogged). Climb underneath and bang on the Cat, if it rattles, it's shot and needs replacing.

Good point, it's not that bad that i would have thought of that yet, but it's a possibility. I'll hook a vacuum gauge up to her and see what she does(a more technical approach than the rattle!). I'm afraid of what i new one would cost from Dodge, i work for a Toyota dealership and we charge around $1200 for a new front pipe and catalytic convertor, depending on the vehicle, and that price doesn't include installation.

Normally i would just hollow the sucker out but i need the computer to be happy so i don't screw up the engine when i hit the nitrous.

Thanks for the idea.

I think speedtweaks.net sells the high-flow Carsurround cats for something like $90 plus shipping...
